Monaco is preparing to celebrate National Day 2026 with a cultural programme featuring theatre, music and comedy. As part of the November festivities, Monaco’s Town Hall is organising three free shows at Espace Léo Ferré, scheduled for 14, 18 and 19 November. The programme offers entertainment for different age groups and interests.
From a family-friendly theatre production to a musical tribute to the legendary Édith Piaf and contemporary satire from Anne Roumanoff, the three events are designed to bring together Monegasque nationals and residents. Admission is free, but a complimentary invitation must be collected in advance according to the announced distribution schedule. Places are limited.
The programme opens on Saturday 14 November at 3 pm with “Pyjamas”, a theatre performance designed for families and suitable for children aged three and above.
Set in the intimate surroundings of a bedroom, the show tells the story of an adult rediscovering the joy of play and imagination. Everyday objects, shoes and clothes become unexpected companions on an adventure celebrating creativity and the ability to see the world through fresh eyes.
The performance is particularly suited to younger audiences, while also offering adults an opportunity to rediscover the spontaneity and wonder of childhood play.
On Wednesday 18 November at 9 pm, on the eve of National Day, Espace Léo Ferré will host “PIAF! Le Spectacle – Hymne à La Môme”, a musical tribute to Édith Piaf, one of the most iconic voices in French chanson.
Nathalie Lermitte will perform the celebrated singer’s repertoire in a production that has already attracted more than two million spectators worldwide.
Combining live music, previously unseen archival footage and innovative stage technology, the show takes audiences on a journey through Piaf’s career and artistic legacy. It celebrates the emotional power of her performances and the songs that helped shape the history of French music.
The show is recommended for audiences aged 10 and over.
The programme concludes on Thursday 19 November at 6 pm, when Anne Roumanoff takes to the stage at Espace Léo Ferré with her new show, “L’Âge Libre”.
Known for her sharp wit and distinctive comic style, Roumanoff tackles contemporary issues and social debates, from inflation and women’s role in the workplace to modern relationships and international politics. Her satirical take also touches on Donald Trump, presidential elections and the rise of extremism.
One of the show’s central themes is women’s freedom to break away from social expectations and constraints. Through humour, provocation and sharp observations, Roumanoff offers a comic perspective on the challenges facing contemporary society.
The performance is recommended for audiences aged 10 and over and marks the final event in Monaco’s National Day programme.
Admission to all three performances is free, but visitors must collect an invitation in advance. Availability is limited, and invitations will be distributed until all places have been allocated.
Invitations can be collected at either of the following locations:
Distribution will follow a specific timetable, with an initial period reserved for Monegasque nationals before being extended to residents.
Each person may collect one invitation only. A valid identity document or residence card must be presented. For children, the family record book may be used.
To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to plan ahead, bearing in mind the limited number of places and the designated collection dates.
With this initiative, Monaco’s Town Hall is adding a varied cultural programme to the National Day celebrations, bringing together different artistic styles and activities for several generations.
Children’s theatre, French musical heritage and contemporary comedy offer three ways to celebrate the occasion through culture and live entertainment. Espace Léo Ferré will be one of the key venues in the festivities, hosting free performances for Monegasque nationals and residents of the Principality.
Anyone planning to attend should make a note of both the performance dates and the invitation collection schedule, as an invitation is required for admission.
