The Principality of Monaco hosted, from March 16 to 20, 2026, a MONEYVAL evaluator training session (6th cycle), within the framework of the international fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and corruption (AML/CFT-P&C).

The session, coordinated by the Permanent Secretariat of the National Coordination and Monitoring Committee for AML/CFT-P&C, brought together around 40 delegates from 21 countries, guided by experts and the MONEYVAL Secretariat.

During the five days, participants alternated between theoretical sessions and practical workshops, acquiring the latest international standards and harmonizing evaluation practices. This training ensures fair and thorough audits for jurisdictions in the global network, in line with the FATF effectiveness requirements.

Some participants were from Monaco’s national authorities and services, strengthening local expertise and understanding of international expectations in financial crime prevention.

During the event, participants visited the Prince’s Palace, where H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince welcomed them, before meeting the Minister of State, Christophe MIRMAND. It was emphasized that Monaco, under the Prince’s leadership, maintains a full and permanent commitment to fighting money laundering and terrorism financing.

By directly hosting evaluator training, the Principality of Monaco strengthens its participation in the MONEYVAL and FATF networks, reaffirms its commitment to preventing financial crime, and actively contributes to the fight against corruption, money laundering, and weapons proliferation.

This initiative highlights Monaco’s role as an engaged international actor, ensuring evaluation practices comply with global standards and consolidating its leadership in financial crime prevention.
