Monaco, 4–7 September 2025 – The Monaco Underwater Exploration Club (CESMM) is organising an exceptional event combining competition, passion and commitment to the protection of marine environments. Three highlights will punctuate these days in the Principality: the 20th National Underwater Photography Competition, the 2nd International Challenge and the grand finale of the Junior Competition, launched by the club at the beginning of the summer.
Honorary President of C.E.S.M.M.: H.S.H. Prince Albert II
President of C.E.S.M.M.: Roger Mullot
President of the Organising Committee of the Monaco Underwater Photography Competition: Sophie Guillou
A shared motto: “To know in order to protect better”.
“Underwater photography competitions are essential because they make the invisible visible: the beauty and fragility of our seabeds. An image is far more powerful than a speech, arousing wonder or awareness in the face of human threats,” says Roger Mullot, President of CESMM and organiser of the competitions, under the aegis of the Monaco Federation of Underwater Activities (FMAS).
For three days, professionals and young talents will share a common goal: to highlight, through outstanding photographs, the splendour and vulnerability of the oceans. In a unique setting, the initiative is part of the values promoted by the Sovereign in favour of protecting the oceans and the marine world. The event also aims to strengthen awareness of the need to safeguard this essential environment while enhancing the richness and diversity of underwater life.
“This is above all a celebration, a unifying event. Behind it lies a long preparation, which begins as soon as the previous edition ends. We are fortunate to count on loyal partners, some committed to us since the very beginning, and on the dedication of our members, the true pillars of the success and sustainability of our organisation,” stresses Roger Mullot.
