Together with Céline Caron-Dagioni, Government Counselor – Minister of Equipment, Environment, and Urban Planning, public and private actors in the construction sector participated on Wednesday, February 14, in a session of the BTP Innovation Commission dedicated to “sustainable construction.” Based on a barometer on “sustainable construction” that synthesizes the responses (of actors in the construction sector) to a questionnaire on this theme prepared by the Direction des Travaux Publics as part of a collaboration with the Collège des Ingénieurs, the actors participated in reflections on the impact of construction projects on the environment, comparing them with the challenges of carbon neutrality, circular economy, comfort, and climate resilience. The exchanges allowed the identification of key factors of action that, in addition to the Bâtiments Durables Méditerranéens Monaco (BD2M) approach initiated by the Government in 2018, must be activated at each phase of a project, from design to demolition. In continuation of previous meetings, the Government Counselor – Minister praised the involvement of professionals and the importance of discussions on these issues, whose aim is to improve the quality of life of the population and respond to environmental challenges without compromising the comfort that a modernized built environment must also provide.
