The 20th edition of the Handiplage at Larvotto is officially open for the entire summer season, running until 31 August 2025, with new features and even more inclusive facilities.

Organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Social Services with the continued support of the Soroptimist Club of Monaco, this program enables individuals with disabilities — whether accompanied or independent — to enjoy the pleasures of swimming in optimal comfort, safety, and hospitality.

After a successful trial in 2024, the opening hours have been extended:

  • Weekdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Weekends and August 15: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

These hours align with the continuous presence of lifeguards at Larvotto beach, ensuring a secure environment. A team of six trained staff, all certified in basic first aid (PSC1), provides support to users throughout the day.

To further enhance accessibility, the site now features:

  • An accessible shower and PMR seat

  • Two adapted SUNBED loungers

  • Two new tiralos (floating beach wheelchairs)

  • Additional amenities including PMR life vests, cooling gel cushions, and a cooler

These upgrades make Larvotto’s Handiplage a reference point for accessible seaside leisure in the Mediterranean, reflecting the Princely Government’s ongoing commitment to building an ever more inclusive and welcoming Principality.
