On Thursday, 15 January 2025, in Paris, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of State – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, conveyed, on behalf of the Princely Government, her New Year’s wishes to the Ambassadors accredited to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and resident in France.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to introduce to the Diplomatic Corps the new team leading the Department of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, composed of Director Benjamin Valli and Deputy Director Mayra Fabre.

At the invitation of H.E. Valérie Bruell-Melchior, Ambassador of Monaco to France and the Principality of Andorra, the event took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, attended by Ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from around 80 countries, as well as David Bertolotti, Deputy Secretary-General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

In her address, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï recalled the many events and high-level visits that marked the Principality of Monaco’s international agenda in 2025. In a context characterized by the fragmentation of the global order and growing international insecurity, she reaffirmed Monaco’s strong commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter, highlighting the Principality’s dedication to depoliticized international cooperation based on humanitarian values.

At the beginning of 2026, the Minister presented to the Ambassadors the key milestones of Monaco’s foreign policy, notably the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which Monaco will assume for the first time from May to November 2026.

Finally, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï reaffirmed the Principality’s ongoing commitment to the knowledge, protection and sustainable management of the ocean, highlighting in particular Monaco’s presidency of the Pelagos Agreement for the protection of marine mammals in the Mediterranean and that of the MedFund, a trust fund dedicated to the development of marine protected areas in the Mediterranean.
