The new administrative building located on Promenade Honoré II was inaugurated on Wednesday, July 23, by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco in the presence of H.E. Mr. Christophe MIRMAND, Minister of State of the Principality; Monsignor Dominique-Marie DAVID, who blessed the premises; the Secretary of State, the President of the National Council, the Secretary of State for Justice, members of the Prince’s Government, members of the Prince’s Cabinet, and many state representatives, along with the project’s architects, Mr. Christian CURAU and Mr. François LALLEMAND.
Five years of architectural planning and nine years of construction were required to deliver the Honoré II Complex, a thoroughly modern, minimalist, and environmentally respectful facility. Indeed, the building is certified “High Environmental Quality” and is powered by nearly 700 solar panels. Its design also optimizes natural lighting.
Easily accessible and located in the heart of Monaco, the Honoré II Complex was conceived to simplify the lives of citizens, who can now carry out numerous administrative procedures in one single location.
The 8,000 m² building now houses the following nine administrative departments:
The Department of Education, Youth and Sports
The Department of Foresight, Urban Planning and Mobility
The Department of Social Welfare and Support
The Housing Department
The Property Administration
The Vehicle Licensing Office
The Public Parking Department
The Legal Affairs Department
The Stamp Issuing Office
As H.E. Mr. MIRMAND emphasized in his inaugural speech, bringing together nearly 500 civil servants and state agents in the Honoré II Complex will also encourage synergies, exchanges, and dialogue essential to effective inter-ministerial cooperation.
