Mayor Georges Marsan, along with members of the Municipal Council and several representatives of Monegasque construction companies, officially opened the new Municipal Council Chamber of Monaco.
In his welcome speech, the mayor emphasized that this project was designed to improve working and welcoming conditions while preserving the essence of the place. After nearly 10 months of expertly conducted work by the Municipal Technical Services, the mayor declared that this dual ambition had been fully realized.
The bespoke space has been carefully designed in every detail, from the flooring to the structure, from the lighting to the furnishings. The room is dominated by a large drop-shaped table, made with smoked oak veneer, framed by lights, symbolizing the unity of the institution, according to Mayor Georges Marsan.
Large frames containing black and white photos of municipal locations and major events organized by the Municipality have been hung on the walls. All functions of the new Council Chamber are managed through home automation, including lighting, air conditioning, heating, video and audio systems, as well as 23 motorized retractable screens.
The mayor concluded by thanking and paying tribute particularly to Francesco Lallemand, his deputy and delegate for Municipal Technical Services.
The inauguration ended with a cocktail organized in the Marriage Hall, before the Public Session scheduled for the evening.
