The 2025 edition of the Herculis EBS Meeting is shaping up to be one of the season’s most anticipated athletics events. On Friday, July 11, the world’s best athletes will gather at Stade Louis II in Monaco for an evening full of talent, fierce rivalries, and potential record-breaking performances. Here’s a look at the highlights you won’t want to miss.
The action starts with the women’s shot put (6:50 PM), headlined by a clash between Chase Jackson and Yemisi Ogunleye, with threats from Sarah Mitton and Jessica Schilder. French talent Auriana Lazraq-Khlass will join the elite field to gain experience.
At 7:10 PM, all eyes turn to the men’s pole vault. After a below-par showing in Monaco last year, Armand Duplantis returns aiming for victory. The field includes Sam Kendricks, Christopher Nilsen, E.J. Obiena, and French legend Renaud Lavillenie, still going strong at 38. Will the meeting record (6.02m) fall?
At 8:04 PM, Femke Bol returns to the stadium where her Diamond League journey began. The 400m hurdles queen faces Dalilah Muhammad and Anna Cockrell. Soon after, Marileidy Paulino leads the women’s 400m (8:15 PM), with competition from Lieke Klaver, Rhasidat Adeleke, and Aaliyah Butler.
The men’s 110m hurdles (8:33 PM) looks like a world final, featuring Cordell Tinch, Grant Holloway, and Trey Cunningham. French hopes rest on Sasha Zhoya and Wilhem Belocian, both eyeing Tokyo qualification.
The men’s 800m (8:23 PM) could steal the show, with Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Marco Arop, and Djamel Sedjati battling for dominance. At 8:43 PM, Jessica Hull headlines the women’s 1000m, joined by Mary Moraa and Jemma Reekie. The 5000m (9:05 PM) pits East African talent against Europe’s finest, including Jimmy Gressier, who may chase a new French record.
In the 3000m steeplechase (9:34 PM), Frederik Ruppert and Samuel Firewu lead a deep field. France’s Alexis Miellet, Djilali Bedrani, and Nicolas-Marie Daru will aim to shine on home soil.
The men’s high jump (8:25 PM) sees a rematch between Hamish Kerr and Shelby McEwen. In the triple jump (8:35 PM), Jordan Scott, Pedro Pichardo, and Hugues Fabrice Zango aim high, while Frenchman Thomas Gogois hunts the Tokyo standard.
Closing out the night, the women’s 100m (9:52 PM) features reigning Olympic champion Julien Alfred, with challengers Tina Clayton, Aleia Hobbs, and Zoé Hobbs. In the men’s 200m (9:27 PM), all eyes will be on Letsile Tebogo, with stiff competition from Ogando, Richards, and rising star Xavi Mi-Ajok.
