A military ceremony, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Maxime Yvrard, took place on Monday, November 25, at the Firefighters’ Barracks in La Condamine, in the presence of the Government Counselor – Minister of the Interior, Lionel Beffre, the Director General of the Department of the Interior, Christophe Prat, and the Senior Commander of the Public Force, Colonel Tony Varo, for the handover of command of the La Condamine Rescue Center between Chief Warrant Officer Jean-Christophe Masotti and Warrant Officer Laurent Audibert, his deputy.
Having joined the Monaco Fire Department in 2001, Warrant Officer Laurent Audibert climbed the ranks within the Fontvieille Rescue Center over 21 years. During this period, he acquired all the necessary skills for his duties (working in hazardous environments, aquatic rescuer, debris removal rescuer). Furthermore, he became the Corps’ point of reference for technological risks, a crucial role for a Rescue Operations Commander when facing nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical, or environmental issues. He was assigned to the La Condamine Rescue Center in December 2022, to serve as Deputy Chief of the Center.
