MENTON – The skies over Menton are set to become the spectacular backdrop for the weekend. From Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, the French Riviera city will host French Flyair, an event dedicated to aviation, combining activities, exhibitions and meetings with a major air show over the Mediterranean.

Organised by the City of Menton together with the Menton Tourist Office and Bleuciel Airshow, the event offers three days of activities for aviation enthusiasts, families and visitors, with the highlight scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at 3 p.m., when Menton Bay will provide the setting for demonstrations featuring some of the leading names in French aviation.

French Flyair in Menton: the aviation village on the seafront

Throughout the event, visitors will be able to explore the village aéronautique set up on the Esplanade Francis Palmero, along Menton’s seafront.

The village will be open, subject to changes, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the weekend. The official opening is scheduled for Friday, August 28 at 4:30 p.m.

The area will offer a journey into the world of aviation through a range of activities and displays, including flight simulators, an ejection seat exhibition, the official Patrouille de France stand, meetings with professionals from the French Air and Space Force, aircraft displays and stands dedicated to aviation.

It will be an opportunity to discover the world of flight from a different perspective, including the technical, professional and historical aspects that normally remain behind the scenes.

Sunday, August 30: the major air show over Menton Bay

The highlight of French Flyair 2026 will take place on Sunday, August 30. From 3 p.m., the skies over Menton Bay will host a major air show, accompanied by music and a programme of spectacular and highly technical demonstrations.

Among the main attractions will be the Patrouille de France, the famous aerobatic display team of the French Air and Space Force, bringing its renowned formations and distinctive blue, white and red smoke trails to the Côte d’Azur.

The programme will also feature the Équipe de Voltige de l’Armée de l’Air et de l’Espace, specialising in high-level aerobatic displays, the Epsilon Team, with synchronised passes and manoeuvres, and the A400M Tactical Display.

The latter will showcase the flight capabilities of the Airbus A400M Atlas, the large military transport aircraft, offering spectators the chance to see one of the most impressive aircraft taking part in the event.

An event combining aviation, entertainment and discovery

French Flyair is not limited to the aerial show. The event combines flying demonstrations with activities on the ground, exhibitions and opportunities for the public to meet aviation professionals.

The aim is to bring aviation closer to a wider audience, offering a programme designed to appeal both to enthusiasts and families.

The success of previous editions highlights the popularity of the event: the previous edition attracted approximately 65,000 spectators.

Alongside the activities on the seafront, the Palais de l’Europe will host exhibitions by Sirpa Air on the second floor.

Visitors will be able to see models of some of the main aircraft operated by the French Air and Space Force, together with a selection of photographs taken by aviation spotters.

The exhibition will be open Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Traffic changes in Menton during the air show

Traffic restrictions are expected in Menton ahead of Sunday’s air show.

The Promenade du Soleil will be pedestrianised, while traffic will be regulated in areas close to the seafront. Organisers therefore recommend that visitors travel to Menton, whenever possible, by train or bus, avoiding cars in the busiest areas.

Restrictions will also apply to the maritime area affected by the demonstrations. During the designated periods, swimming, diving, anchoring and navigation will be prohibited in regulated areas, except within authorised ZRUB zones.

Programme subject to weather conditions
