The Municipality of Monaco is strengthening its commitment to sustainability with an event that blends community spirit and environmental awareness. On Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the beautiful Parc Princesse Antoinette will host a new edition of the Braderie de la Mairie, an initiative increasingly central to local circular economy policies.
Designed “by and for citizens,” the event promotes reuse and waste reduction, transforming a traditional flea market into a practical tool for sustainable living.
Residents of Monaco will be the main actors, with the opportunity to book a stand for free and sell everyday items such as clothes, books, toys, and accessories. These items will find new owners, avoiding waste and supporting a more responsible consumption model.
More than just a bargain-hunting opportunity, the Braderie embodies the principles of the circular economy, where every object can be reused and revalued.
One of the highlights of the 2026 edition is the “Vide-Chambre” project, created by the youth of the Projet Communal Junior. The initiative encourages young participants to declutter their rooms and give unused items a new life.
This simple yet meaningful action promotes awareness, reduces consumerism, and educates younger generations about sustainability.
Beyond its environmental mission, the Braderie offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. A refreshment area and shared spaces will make the event enjoyable for families, friends, and visitors.
It becomes a true neighborhood celebration where good deals meet social connection and collective responsibility.
As global attention to environmental issues grows, Monaco continues to position itself as a forward-looking Principality. The Braderie is a tangible example of how small everyday actions can contribute to a broader ecological impact.
