The process for applying for public housing in the Principality of Monaco is changing. Since 5 November 2026, Monegasque citizens have been able to submit applications throughout the year, without having to wait for a specific application period to open.
The new system is available through Expérience Logement, a digital service on the MonGuichet.mc platform, announced by Minister of Finance and Economy Frédéric Cottalorda.
The initiative aims to simplify the application process and make the allocation procedure more transparent. Through their personal online account, applicants can monitor the progress of their applications and view the score awarded according to the official assessment criteria.
One of the main changes concerns the validity period of applications. Once an application has been deemed eligible, it will remain valid for 12 months and will automatically be considered in subsequent public housing allocation rounds.
During this period, applicants can update their information if their family or personal circumstances change. They may also apply for different types of apartments, subject to the limits established according to the needs of their household.
The new system also provides greater transparency regarding the assessment process. Applicants will be able to view their individual score directly through their online account. Scores are calculated according to the criteria set out in the ministerial ordinance of 12 October 2026.
The project will enter a new phase during the first quarter of 2027. From then on, applicants will be able to view the available properties and rank them according to their preferences.
However, selecting preferred apartments will not guarantee allocation. Assignments will continue to be made in accordance with the applicable procedures and criteria.
The Government of Monaco has also announced that two allocation committees will meet during 2027, with the aim of helping to reduce waiting times for families.
The new service can be accessed through the MonGuichet.mc platform. Applicants can find a video guide and a frequently asked questions section on MonServicePublic.mc, designed to help them use the new system.
Those who do not wish to use digital services can still submit their applications in paper form. Further information and assistance are also available from the Housing Department (Direction de l’Habitat) and the Maison du Numérique.
