Self-taught artist Brigitte Aliot has spent around twenty years developing her own artistic language. Her approach is driven by a spontaneous, almost automatic gesture, through which colour and movement take centre stage.
Her early works were characterised by architectural structures and rigid forms. Over time, her visual language evolved towards more fluid compositions, in which shapes and colours interact freely, giving rise to increasingly dynamic and expressive works.
Aliot’s artistic practice falls within the realm of Lyrical Abstraction, an approach that prioritises gesture, emotion and the expressive potential of colour.
Her paintings explore contrasts: strength and fragility, noise and silence, pop influences and romantic sensibility. Rather than imposing a single interpretation, the artist leaves room for the viewer’s imagination, allowing each person to develop a personal response to the works.
The exhibition is hosted in the hotel’s lobby, within the Méridien Hub, a space designed to encourage encounters and exchanges. The presentation reflects the Méridien Beach Plaza’s commitment to integrating art and culture into the guest experience, offering visitors an opportunity to discover contemporary artistic expression in an everyday setting.
This cultural approach is also reflected in the hotel’s participation in the Unlock Art™ programme, which gives guests access to partner cultural institutions.
In Monaco, hotel guests can visit the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (NMNM) free of charge by presenting their room keycard, creating a link between the hotel stay and the Principality’s cultural offerings.
Brigitte Aliot’s IN FILE exhibition will be on view at the Méridien Beach Plaza in Monaco until 16 January 2027.
