MONACO – Discovering Monaco’s heritage through play, curiosity and exploration. This is the idea behind the new experience launched by the Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies, which, from 30 September 2026, puts young visitors at the heart of the museum experience.

The initiative aims to turn a museum visit into an educational and engaging adventure, introducing children and teenagers to the history of the Principality through the collections of stamps and coins preserved at the museum.

A museum to explore through puzzles and missions

The new experience is primarily designed for children aged 8 to 15, who can follow the journey independently with the help of a dedicated puzzle booklet. Children from the age of 6 can also take part when accompanied by an adult.

Throughout the visit, young explorers are encouraged to carefully observe the collections, search for details, decipher clues and complete a series of missions. The museum thus becomes a space to discover step by step, through an experience combining learning and entertainment.

Observation games, challenges and fascinating facts accompany young visitors along the route, encouraging them to sharpen their attention and take a closer look at the objects on display.

Stamps, coins and Monaco’s history explained to younger visitors

The journey provides an accessible and engaging introduction to the history of Monegasque philately and numismatics.

Page by page, young visitors can learn about the history of stamps and coins, discover how they are produced and explore the stories of some of the figures who have shaped Monaco’s history.

The experience also leads visitors to some of the treasures preserved in the museum’s collections, offering an opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of the Principality from a perspective specifically designed for children and teenagers.

A surprise at the end of the adventure

To make the experience even more engaging, a surprise awaits young visitors at the end of the journey.

The initiative has also been designed to encourage families to take part together. Until 2 November 2026 inclusive, purchasing a young visitors’ booklet for €5 includes one free adult admission.

The offer provides an opportunity to enjoy the experience as a family, turning a museum visit into a shared cultural activity for parents and children.

Opening hours and practical information

The Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies in Monaco is open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

The price of the young visitors’ activity is €5, while the adult admission ticket costs €3 outside the promotional period running until 2 November.
