Dante Alighieri Monaco unveils its 2026-2027 cultural season: Italy between heritage, innovation and the future

Italian culture returns to the spotlight in the Principality of Monaco with a new season of events dedicated to language, art, science and creativity. The Società Dante Alighieri – Monaco Committee has announced its 2026-2027 cultural programme, entitled “Italy in Dialogue Between Past and Future”, confirming its role as a cultural bridge between Italy and Monaco.

Under the Honorary Presidency of H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover, the new season offers a journey through Italian heritage, connecting the richness of the past with the challenges of the contemporary world. The programme highlights the Italian language and culture as powerful tools for knowledge, exchange and international cooperation.

A programme combining culture, science and innovation

The 2026-2027 season will open on 17 September 2026 with a conference by Dr Paolo Di Muro focusing on health and prevention. It will launch a rich calendar of conferences, theatrical performances, film screenings and musical events running throughout the year.

Among the highlights is “Coppél-i.A.”, scheduled for 14 October, an innovative project exploring the relationship between dance and artificial intelligence, where artistic tradition meets new technologies.

On 19 October, writer and journalist Massimo Gramellini will take part in an evening dedicated to the importance of dialogue and the role of culture in creating connections between individuals and communities.

Theatre, cinema and the great figures of Italian culture

The programme continues on 9 November with the theatrical performance “Quello che siamo”, followed on 18 November by a screening of the film “La pazza gioia”, a moving exploration of human vulnerability and relationships.

On 10 December, Professor Fulvio Conti will offer an original perspective on Dante Alighieri, presenting the poet as a true pop culture icon whose work continues to inspire and engage new generations.

The new year will bring further celebrations of Italian excellence: on 13 January 2027, the programme will feature a documentary film dedicated to ballerina Eleonora Abbagnato, while 5 February will celebrate the musical genius of Antonio Vivaldi.

On 8 March, the spotlight will turn to Clelia Durazzo Grimaldi, a pioneer of Italian botany and a symbol of women’s contribution to science and cultural progress.

Dante, Made in Italy and the dialogue with the future

One of the highlights of the season will be Dantedì on 25 March, when the figure of Dante and the legendary relationship between Dante and Beatrice will be revisited through a theatrical interpretation combining literature, memory and contemporary forms of expression.

On 12 April, Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi will focus on the excellence of Made in Italy, exploring the value of Italian creativity in fashion, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.

The season will conclude in May with a classical music concert organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Lelio Luttazzi, bringing to an end a cultural journey built around the theme of dialogue.
