From April 10 to 12, 2026, Biot will transform into a true medieval town for the 10th edition of Biot et les Templiers, one of the most spectacular historical events in Europe.
Located between Nice and Cannes, the town is preparing to welcome more than 100,000 visitors, confirming its status as a major destination for cultural tourism and historical reenactments.
In recent years, Biot et les Templiers has grown significantly, earning in 2023 the title of Europe’s leading medieval festival. Over the weekend, it also becomes one of the French Riviera’s top events, surpassing iconic celebrations such as the Nice Carnival and the Menton Lemon Festival.
For three days, the historic center of Biot offers a fully immersive experience into the world of the Middle Ages and the legacy of the Knights Templar.
The 2026 edition features over 150 hours of programming, with 30 international companies and more than 500 performers in costume.
Main highlights include:
This year’s theme, “Women and the Temple,” adds a unique perspective on the role of women in the medieval era.
One of the most anticipated highlights of Biot et les Templiers is the massive videomapping show, considered the largest of its kind in the world.
The performance transforms over 27,000 square meters of historic façades into a stunning visual narrative, using animated 3D projections to tell the story of the Middle Ages and the Knights Templar.
The project is created by lighting artist Gaspare Di Caro in collaboration with Proietta, combining cutting-edge technology with artistic innovation.
With the 2026 edition, Biot strengthens its position in the European cultural events scene, offering a unique blend of entertainment, heritage and tourism appeal.
Thanks to its increasingly international scope, the festival stands out as a must-attend event for families, history enthusiasts and travelers from across Europe, promoting the French Riviera as a top destination for cultural experiences.
