On the occasion of Dantedì 2026, the Principality of Monaco is set to celebrate Dante Alighieri with a rich cultural program. The initiative is organized by the Società Dante Alighieri – Monaco Committee, under the High Patronage of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover and the Italian Embassy.
A full day dedicated to the Supreme Poet and the richness of Italian language and culture, featuring readings, music, and immersive performances.
The celebrations will officially begin on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Terrasses du Soleil in Monte-Carlo.
The event will open with President Maria Betti inviting the audience to experience “The little ship of my intellect,” an immersive journey centered around a hot air balloon—a powerful symbol of connection and travel between cultures, echoing Dante’s poetic vision.
The program will feature readings from the Divine Comedy in both Italian and French, performed by teachers and students from Lycée Albert Ier of Monaco, highlighting the dialogue between Italian and French cultures.
From 5:30 PM until sunset, a second part of the event will take place, entirely dedicated to the three canticles of the Divine Comedy: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso.
The program will include artistic performances blending spoken word and music, with contributions from artists, teachers, and students. Highlights include:
