The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco launches its 2026 summer season with a wide range of activities dedicated to the exploration of the Mediterranean Sea, designed to engage visitors of all ages through educational, immersive, and interactive experiences.
From July 4 to August 31, the museum offers a dynamic program combining scientific outreach, cutting-edge technology, and environmental awareness, with the aim of strengthening public understanding of marine ecosystem protection.
At the heart of the program is the exhibition “Mediterranean 2050”, which has already welcomed more than 800,000 visitors. The exhibition invites audiences to explore the future of the Mediterranean through an innovative and immersive journey.
During the summer season, the experience is enhanced with family-oriented and group activities that combine education, wonder, and environmental responsibility.
The goal is to help visitors discover the “Great Blue” through an engaging narrative focused on marine conservation and biodiversity protection.
One of the main highlights of summer 2026 is the enhanced ImmerSEAve VR experience, now featuring a new virtual reality adventure.
In addition to exploring a Mediterranean Marine Protected Area, visitors can embark on a journey into the future to discover a regenerated sea. Using next-generation VR headsets, participants board a submarine on a scientific mission to assess the health of marine ecosystems.
During the experience, they encounter iconic species such as dolphins, sperm whales, and fin whales, moving freely within an interactive virtual environment while contributing to the exploration of the Pelagos Sanctuary.
The museum’s summer program also includes some of its most popular activities, such as intertidal wildlife observation and a themed escape game designed to combine entertainment with marine education.
A diverse offering that reinforces the museum’s role as a key institution for environmental awareness and education for younger generations.
Among the most significant initiatives of summer 2026 is the photography exhibition “Mediterranean, a Fragile Jewel”, created in collaboration with SNCF Gares & Connexions and Nice-based underwater photographer Greg Lecoeur.
The exhibition will be displayed in major French railway stations, including Paris Gare de Lyon, Marseille, Cannes, and Nice-Ville, transforming transit spaces into awareness hubs dedicated to ocean conservation.
The exhibition will also continue inside the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, featuring a curated selection of images showcasing the beauty and fragility of the Mediterranean Sea.
From July 13 to August 23, the museum offers a special promotion: tickets purchased online via the official website for visits scheduled before 11:00 AM or after 5:00 PM will benefit from a 20% discount.
With its 2026 summer program, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco reinforces its role as a leading institution in marine science communication and ocean conservation.
An experience that blends innovation, research, and public engagement, offering visitors a new way to explore and understand the Mediterranean.
A journey through past, present, and future to rediscover the beauty and fragility of our sea.
