The year 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Monaco and Japan.
To celebrate this milestone, several events are being organized in the Principality of Monaco and in Tokyo to highlight the strong cultural and diplomatic ties between the two countries.

On March 21, the forecourt of the Grimaldi Forum and the Japanese Garden will host a day of activities under the theme “Japan in Monaco.”


Program of the Day (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

  • 10:00 AM: Opening of the Japanese crafts exhibition

  • 11:00 AM: Official ceremony

    • Japanese drum demonstration

    • Dance performance by Mimoza KOIKE

  • 12:00 PM: Washi-Sakura workshop (registration required)

  • 2:30 PM: Japanese drum demonstration

  • 3:30 PM: Washi-Sakura workshop (registration required)

  • 5:00 PM: Closing of the event


Access and Registration

Entry to the event is free and open to the public, except for the Washi-Sakura workshop, which requires registration and a participation fee.
