On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Comité pour la promotion et la protection des droits renews its commitment with the return of the POWHER event, organized together with its partners.
Now in its third consecutive edition, POWHER 2026 will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Espace Léo Ferré, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This year’s theme will explore the life journey of a woman through sports, health, and equality.
For the occasion, the Espace Léo Ferré will be transformed with an original scenography, placing sports at the center. A photo exhibition will highlight the talent and dedication of Monegasque female athletes, offering an inspiring view of women in sport.
“The aim of the event is to show the differences that exist in the life cycles of women and men, as well as the inequalities that may result from them,” explains Céline Cottalorda, Interministerial Delegate for Women’s Rights.
Throughout the day, numerous Monegasque associations and organizations will be present to offer interactive activities, workshops, and discussion opportunities, answering any questions from the public.
“The event is meant to be both fun and informative, addressing topics such as stereotypes in sports, menstruation, treatment of certain female health issues, the legacy for future generations, and many other subjects,” adds Céline Cottalorda.
🎨 A unique collective artwork
Artist Mr One Teas, also an ambassador for women’s rights, will create an interactive installation allowing visitors to engage and take home a keepsake.
“I wanted to create an installation that echoes a fundamental struggle: equality, carried forward every day by women, in sports and across all areas of society,” explains the artist.
🧩 An interactive treasure hunt
A treasure hunt will guide visitors to discover a secret code needed to reach the finish line, where Mr One Teas’ artwork will be displayed. Clues will be hidden across the different stages of a woman’s life, from childhood to senior years.
📸 Photo exhibition
Photographer Sébastien Salamand (Le Turk) will present a photo exhibition dedicated to Monegasque female athletes, featuring six sports: rugby, football, basketball, judo, athletics, and gymnastics.
Youth participation is a priority for the Comité. On Friday, March 6, from 6:00 PM, in the National Council Hemicycle, an eloquence contest will take place on the theme:
“A Story of Equality: From Ego to Equals”
The contest will showcase the voices of high school students from the Principality and will be broadcast live on Monaco Info.
🗓 Registrations are open until February 15, 2026.
