“Je suis une œuvre d’art!”: Grasse’s Youth Become the Stars of Art

Until 14 February 2026, the Médiathèque Charles Nègre in Grasse hosts Je suis une œuvre d’art!, a remarkable exhibition created by Fouzia Kechkech and Mathilde Oscar, known for the TV series D’Art d’Art! and À Musée Vous, À Musée Moi.

Under the auspices of the Micro-Folie départementale des Alpes-Maritimes, the exhibition has received the prestigious “Olympiade Culturelle Paris 2024” label, associated with artistic events linked to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Art becomes playful and accessible

The project aims to make art engaging and accessible through a contemporary and immersive visual language. For this initiative, 146 students from 36 schools in the department were selected for their resemblance to iconic figures in art history.

Guided by Kechkech and Oscar, the students reinterpreted masterpieces with humor and poetry, from da Vinci, Vigée Le Brun, Vermeer, Courbet, Van Gogh, Modigliani, Warhol, and other masters. For example, Marie-Antoinette comes to life in the features of Maelys, a young horse rider; Elena’s Mona Lisa becomes an Olympic symbol; Gérôme’s Black Bard pays tribute to Kobe Bryant; while the Girl with a Pearl Earring wields a tennis racket, blending athleticism with grace.

An interactive experience between art and sport

Each photograph is enhanced with augmented reality animations, revealing the secrets and stories behind the artworks. Surrounded by costumes, sets, and props, visitors can pose and become part of a timeless portrait themselves.

The exhibition creates a dialogue between classical art and pop culture, connecting past and present in a journey that celebrates creativity, culture, and the values of sport, offering a unique and immersive experience for all ages.
