Each winter, Menton renews one of its most spectacular and emblematic traditions. From 14 February to 1 March 2026, the city will once again become an open-air stage for the 92nd Fête du Citron, a flagship event of the French Riviera, officially recognised by the French Ministry of Culture and listed since 2019 in the Inventory of France’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
For more than two weeks, the famed “City of Lemons” will welcome over 200,000 visitors from around the world, drawn by an event unlike any other. The theme chosen for the 2026 edition, “Wonders of the Living World”, invites the public to contemplate the beauty and complexity of nature through a poetic and immersive journey dedicated to biodiversity.
At the heart of the festival are the spectacular citrus sculptures displayed in the Biovès Gardens, freely accessible throughout the event. Rising up to ten metres high, these monumental, ephemeral structures pay tribute to nature’s creativity, offering a multisensory experience of vivid colours, citrus scents and striking visual forms.
One of the most anticipated highlights remains the famous Corsos des Fruits d’Or, the parades of lemon- and orange-covered floats that wind through the streets, accompanied by dancers, musicians and performers from around the world. Daytime parades are scheduled for 15 and 22 February and 1 March, while the night parades, enhanced by spectacular lighting and fireworks, will take place on 19 and 26 February.
Alongside the main events, a rich programme of complementary activities animates the entire city: from the Orchid and Winter Garden Exhibition, celebrating floral beauty, to the Craft Market, showcasing local artisans and producers, as well as concerts, performances and family-friendly entertainment.
A powerful symbol of the region, the Citron de Menton IGP remains the cultural emblem of the festival. In order to preserve its rarity and gastronomic value, it is not used in the decorative installations, yet it continues to embody the identity and heritage of the event.
Set between sea and mountains, Menton thus renews its deep connection with the lemon, offering a celebration that blends tradition, creativity and spectacle, and reaffirming its status as a truly unique event on the international stage.
