
The 22nd edition of the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie, conceived and directed by Ezio Greggio, returns from November 12 to 15, 2025 at the prestigious Grimaldi Forum Monte-Carlo, reaffirming its status as one of the world’s most renowned international film events dedicated to comedy.
This year’s International Jury will be chaired by acclaimed Italian actress and director Claudia Gerini, a versatile artist known for her memorable performances in I’m Crazy About Iris Blond, Viaggi di nozze and Tapirulan. Winner of the David di Donatello Award for Best Supporting Actress for Ammore e Malavita, Gerini has enjoyed a distinguished international career, starring in The Unknown Woman by Giuseppe Tornatore and The Order of Time by Liliana Cavani.
The role of Honorary President is held by legendary actor Franco Nero, a true icon of Italian and international cinema. Known for Django, Django Unchained and John Wick – Chapter 2, Nero has worked with celebrated filmmakers such as Luis Buñuel, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Claude Chabrol, Sergei Bondarchuk, Michael Cacoyannis, Elio Petri and Marco Bellocchio. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for Camelot and was awarded the title of Knight of the Italian Republic by the President of Italy.
Joining them on the Jury are Spanish actress Teresa Riott, best known for her role in Netflix’s global hit series Valeria and in El Inmortal, and American actor, director and producer Daniel McVicar, beloved worldwide for his portrayal of Clarke Garrison in The Bold and the Beautiful, and for his work in films such as The Fourth Planet, One Way Ticket to the Moon and Ladro di Stelle Cadenti.
Under the creative direction of Ezio Greggio, the festival continues to celebrate and promote the art of comedy, offering a program of premieres, in- and out-of-competition screenings, masterclasses, and special encounters with renowned figures from international cinema.
Organized in collaboration with EFG Bank (Monaco), the event takes place under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Embassy of Italy, with Radio Monte Carlo as the official media partner.
The highlight of the festival will be the Gala Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 15, where winners will be announced. The evening will feature a live performance by Gipsy’s Kings way by Pablo Reyes, the new generation of the legendary Gipsy Kings, performing their greatest hits. Many distinguished guests and surprises are expected, promising an unforgettable night of entertainment and glamour.
The Short Comedy Award also returns, dedicated to short films in the comedy genre, open to directors, actors and producers eager to engage audiences through humor, originality and creativity.
Thanks to Ezio Greggio and the late Mario Monicelli, co-founder of the Festival, the Monte-Carlo Film Festival has elevated the status of comedy, earning recognition for the genre at major festivals including Cannes, Rome, Turin and Venice.
