The Biennale of Contemporary Sacred Art (BACS) is now in full swing in Menton, running from October 1 to 31, 2025, at the Palace des Ambassadeurs and the Marabini-Martac Museum.
This year’s central theme, “Forgiveness,” invites artists and visitors to explore one of humanity’s most profound and universal values through the transformative power of art.

Art as a Bridge Between Spirituality and Modernity

The Biennale was founded with the goal of fostering dialogue between faith and creativity, inspiring spiritual reflection through all forms of contemporary artistic expression — from painting and sculpture to photography and multimedia installations.
Affiliated with the Mirabile Dictu – International Catholic Film Festival, the BACS shares the same mission: to spread messages of hope, beauty, and reconciliation through art.

A Growing International Event

Following the remarkable success of its 2021 edition — which featured 214 international artists, attracted over 4,000 visitors, and resulted in numerous art sales — the Biennale confirms in 2025 its prominent role in the European art scene.
Several artists who previously exhibited in Menton were later selected for the Venice Biennale, underscoring the event’s growing prestige and artistic credibility.

A Project That Lives All Year Long

Even in non-Biennale years, the BACS continues its mission through the “Artists in Residence” program, which welcomes creators from around the world.
In 2024, the residency hosted Kim Boulukos (USA) and Brian Finch (United Kingdom), providing them with workspace and opportunities for creative and cultural exchange with the local community.

An Open Call for Artists Worldwide

The Biennale continues to accept submissions for the current and future editions.
Artists are invited to submit works inspired by the theme “Forgiveness” by sending an email to:

Forgiveness as a Creative Act

With its 2025 edition, the Biennale of Contemporary Sacred Art in Menton stands as a unique meeting place between art, spirituality, and humanity, where forgiveness becomes a universal language of peace and inner renewal.
An event that encourages everyone to look beyond aesthetics, rediscovering through art the path to reconciliation and shared hope.
