From October 1 to 18, 2025, the Scènes d’Automne Festival returns to enchant Nice, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Le Broc, and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Between contemporary and classical theatre, dance, screenings, readings, and concerts, this must-attend cultural event offers a rich and eclectic program, carried by its patron: Eva Rami, actress and author from Nice, awarded the 2024 Molière for Best One-Woman Show.
The festival kicks off on Wednesday, October 1, with a free family-friendly day at the Jardin Durandy (10:30 am – 5 pm). The program includes:
Les Vagabonds (Le Grand Large Company), clownish and poetic street theatre;
L’Homme Mobile (Les Hommes de Mains Company), an acrobatic performance inspired by Calder’s universe;
A concert of Balkan traditional music with the Giuglaris-Navard Duo.
Eva Rami will lead several personal events, including a Carte Blanche at the Cinémathèque de Nice on Friday, October 3: Portraits of Women, featuring screenings, readings, and discussions around the works of Léa-Jade Horlier and Lola Monset. On Saturday, October 4, she presents her “Coup de Cœur”, a contemporary reimagining of Rapunzel at the Théâtre Francis-Gag — a family show for ages 7 and up.
The festival’s core will take place in the theatres of Nice and the surrounding area, featuring 12 productions in competition, such as:
Novecento: Pianist (Théâtre de la Semeuse), a musical tale after Alessandro Baricco, October 3–5;
Vivante(s), a one-woman show by Marie Treppo at the Conservatoire of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, October 3;
Le Cabaret des Oiseaux at Espace Magnan, October 4;
Réveillon à la Morgue, a comedy by Jean-Pierre Martinez at Théâtre L’Alphabet (several dates).
The festival also supports new talent: the Conservatoire of Nice drama students will present “Scènes en papier”, a series of readings and performances based on contemporary writing, held between October 2 and 14 in various venues across Nice.
With indoor performances, outdoor shows, encounters, and discoveries, Scènes d’Automne 2025 stands as one of the key cultural highlights of the Côte d’Azur’s autumn season. The public can follow updates, behind-the-scenes content, and surprises on the Théâtre Francis-Gag social networks and official YouTube channel.
