In the context of the exhibition “Les Années folles de Coco Chanel” presented at Villa Paloma until Sunday, October 5, Laurence Delamare, Director of 7L and of Literature Relations at CHANEL Fashion, will revisit the life of Gabrielle Chanel during a lecture interspersed with selected excerpts from works by Jean Cocteau, Colette, and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Laurence Delamare began her career in the fashion world in 1996 as Press Officer for Maison Yohji Yamamoto in Paris. In 2004, she joined CHANEL to coordinate the fashion press services of the House worldwide. From 2011 to 2022, she led the global fashion press and external relations department at CHANEL, working alongside Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, Artistic Directors of the House.

In 2022, she became Director of Librairie 7L, an art bookstore founded by Karl Lagerfeld in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and later acquired by CHANEL after the couturier’s passing. Librairie 7L also includes a cultural programming and creative space within Lagerfeld’s former photo studio, as well as Éditions 7L. Passionate about CHANEL’s history, codes, and the House’s contribution to contemporary culture, she plays a key role in transmitting its legacy within the company, a global leader in luxury fashion. Since August 2025, in addition to managing Librairie 7L, she has also been overseeing Literature Relations at CHANEL Fashion.
