The French Riviera welcomes summer with a cultural initiative that masterfully combines art and landscape. In Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a famous location overlooking the Mediterranean, “Les Demoiselles du Cap” takes place, an exhibition event that animates the entire summer season with the elegant sculptures of Jean-Philippe Richard.
The Sculptures
Until October 26th, 19 life-sized female figures will be displayed in squares, gardens, and paths of the village, creating an immersive artistic itinerary that goes from the town hall to the stadium, passing through the suggestive Promenade des Arts. The sculptures, harmonious and refined, show themselves to the public with smiling faces and delicate postures.
The Artist
Jean-Philippe Richard, a French sculptor, has lived and worked in Provence since the 1970s. With over 35 years of career behind him, he is now a reference figure internationally. Self-taught and visionary, he has dedicated his life to art, driven by two passions: the sky, through astronomy, and matter, which he transforms into delicate and powerful works.
The Exhibition
From July 18th to 27th, the Espace Namouna will host the exhibition “L’art d’aimer”, an intimate exhibition featuring the sculptures of Richard and the paintings of Virginie Lhomme Fontaine. A sensitive and poetic dialogue between forms and colors, between matter and feeling.
A Unique Experience
Richard’s “ladies” are not new to the Riviera public, but now, immersed in the natural charm of Saint-Jean, they take on new life, transforming the peninsula into an open-air gallery. A unique experience that combines art, nature, and beauty, not to be missed.
