In Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Sainte-Claire Festival blends spirituality and community spirit
One of the most heartfelt and anticipated events of the summer returns to Saint-Paul-de-Vence: the Sainte-Claire Festival, held from August 7 to 10, 2025, will transform the village into a vibrant stage of emotions, uniting religious devotion, music, dancing, and festive gatherings.
Organized by the Comité Officiel des Fêtes with the support of the Town Hall, the festival pays tribute to Saint Clare, the village’s secondary patron saint and a beloved figure of local devotion. It’s a tradition that has withstood the centuries, celebrating a deep-rooted and enduring spiritual connection.
A sacred bond shaped by history and landscape
A disciple of Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare is honored every year with a solemn mass, a torchlit procession through the village streets, and a pilgrimage to the Chapel of Sainte-Claire, located at the northern entrance of Saint-Paul. This 15th-century chapel—restored over the centuries—has been a site of worship since at least 1719.
