The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco with the support of various companies and institutions, will host 40 teams from 20 countries this year, competing in challenges that combine ingenuity and sustainability. Considered a true innovation lab, the event is designed to foster dialogue between academia and the maritime industry. New initiatives, such as the Corporate Mentoring Programme and the Job Forum, will offer opportunities for professionals and companies in the sustainable boating sector. The event will also feature thematic conferences on innovation in sustainable boating and alternative energy sources, with a focus on hydrogen. Additionally, for the first time, there will be the AI Class, a new competition category dedicated to autonomous boats powered by artificial intelligence.
To highlight the importance of technological research for a greener future, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation will once again award the Sustainable Yachting Technology Award, a €25,000 prize for the most innovative project in terms of energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction. With increasing international participation and a stronger spirit of collaboration, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2025 continues to establish itself as a global stage for sustainable technologies, contributing to the creation of a cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally responsible boating industry.
