The Malmaison in Cannes, located along the famous Croisette, has recently reopened its doors after an extensive period of renovation. Its new exhibition, “Luxe, calme et volupté”, will remain open to the public until April 20, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the enchanting Mediterranean landscape.
The exhibition is a true tribute to the beauty of the landscapes of the South of France, which represents one of the main missions of the International Center for Contemporary Art. It is a visual journey through the ages, from the light of Impressionism to the present day, guiding us in the search for happiness, the same happiness that the Mediterranean landscapes seem to evoke with their calm and serenity.
“Luxe, calme et volupté” invites us to discover the timeless charm of the Midi, a land of light and intensity that has inspired artists from all eras, from Monet to Picasso, from Matisse to Bonnard. Each work on display reflects the enchantment of a sort of Mediterranean golden age, a period when nature and art merge, creating a poetic vision of the world. Between myths and dreams of escape, the exhibition celebrates the captivating connection between creativity and landscape that has seduced the minds of modern and contemporary artists.
Additionally, the guided tour program offers the opportunity to deepen the theme of the exhibition and the historical-artistic context that marked this period. The tours will be held on the following dates:
