The Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur is committed to raising awareness and protecting terrestrial and marine biodiversity.

On the occasion of Nature Week, which will take place from today, Tuesday, May 21, until Sunday, May 26, 2024, and the International Day for Biological Diversity, celebrated on May 22, the Métropole is offering numerous events to promote the richness of metropolitan biodiversity.

Program:

Tuesday, May 21

  • Conference-debate “Biodiversity and Renaturalization of Territories” – Parc Phoenix, from 9 AM to 5:15 PM. Salle Linné.

Wednesday, May 22

  • International Day for Biological Diversity – On the Promenade du Paillon from 9 AM to 5 PM (stands, workshops, music).

Thursday, May 23

  • Botany lesson – At the Maison de l’Environnement from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24

  • Guided tours at the Natural History Museum at 11:30 AM and 4 PM.

Saturday, May 25

  • Workshop, walk, and excursion:
    • Worm composting workshop at the Maison de l’Environnement from 10 AM to 12 PM.
    • Nature excursion in Vallon Obscur des Vallières (as part of the Curieux de Nature program).
    • Walk on the Grande Corniche in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (with the Environment Center) from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Sunday, May 26

  • Participatory inventory – In Levens from 10 AM to 5 PM (as part of the Curieux de Nature program).

Until May 20, Parc Phoenix is hosting the 9th stage of the Tournée du Climat et de la Biodiversité with a free exhibition in the greenhouse. Supported by the Météo et Climat association, the initiative aims to raise public awareness of climate change and biodiversity erosion issues.
