38367, this is the number of residents in the Principality announced by the IMSEE for the year 2023.
What are the top 5 nationalities within this population? Are there more men than women? What is the average age of the population? From which countries do the residents who have settled in recent years come? What is the share of housing located in Monte-Carlo?
You will find the answers to all these questions and many more in the report of the 2023 Population Census, made public today by the IMSEE.
The result of a collaboration between numerous entities (Municipality of Monaco, Public Security Directorate, National Education, Youth and Sports Directorate, Domain Administration, and the Directorate of Urban Planning and Mobility Prospects) and thanks to the evolution of their information systems, the IMSEE is now able to carry out the census of the population and housing without needing to conduct an exhaustive field survey.
This new “registry-based” approach, maintained by the Municipality of Monaco and various state services, will now allow the main characteristics of the resident population and housing in the Principality to be known annually.
