Event – “Monaco Fair”

From Friday, October 18 to Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Port Hercule, Monaco
Autumn and the mid-term school holidays are fast approaching, and this can only mean one thing: the fair is returning to the Principality! As every year, dozens of ride operators and street vendors (a total of 78) will gather for a festival of entertainment, with traditional fair games, activities, rides, bumper cars, food stands, and much more. The Department of City Events, responsible for organizing the fair, has thought of everything, so there will be something for everyone to look forward to!

Organized by the Department of Culture of the Principality of Monaco, the exhibition “Des Ateliers aux Ateliers” is an unprecedented journey through 20th-century art history, featuring over 150 photographs by Michel SIMA. The exhibition builds a bridge between the world of modern art and the life of contemporary creation, with the project taking place not far from the “Ateliers du Quai,” an international artist residency that recalls the rich artistic history of the Principality.

Exhibition – “Miquel Barceló, Oceanographer”

From Friday, June 7 to Sunday, October 13, 2024, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma
With a selection of around sixty works (paintings, ceramics, embroideries, works on paper), this exhibition offers the opportunity to discover the prolific and eclectic creations of Miquel Barceló, a Spanish artist whose favorite subject was the sea.

Environment – “Monaco Zero Cigarette Butts”

Several “MégotBox” (collection and recycling points for cigarette butts) are placed in front of certain municipal sites: the Monaco Town Hall, the School of Plastic Arts – Bosio Pavilion, the Rainier III Academy, the José Notari Media Library-Sound Library, the Louis Notari Library, the Rainier III Nautical Stadium, the Léo Ferré Space, the Condamine Market, the Monte-Carlo Market. This initiative aims to protect the environment.

Exhibition – “The Ice Giants”

From Wednesday, April 10 to Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, polar bears and emperor penguins take center stage in “The Ice Giants,” a new exhibition by Michel Bassompierre. Seven monumental works will be installed in the Oceanographic Museum and on its panoramic terrace. Five of them will be new creations: four polar bears and a three-meter-tall emperor penguin. Original drawings and sketches will also be displayed, accompanied by a film showcasing the artist’s work. This temporary exhibition is part of the Polar Mission organized by the Oceanographic Institute since 2022.

Exhibition – “Lascaux in Monaco”

From Friday, April 19 to Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, an original set design organized around facsimiles and an immersive Virtual Reality experience thanks to #SPL LASCAUX, exclusive thanks to the Museum’s Partners. Original objects from the Lascaux cave are exhibited on loan from the National Prehistory Museum (Les Eyzies, Dordogne) and the Institute of Human Paleontology (Paris) and also… Hyper-realistic reconstructions of 5 Cro-Magnon figures created by Elisabeth Daynes, a 1/10 scale model of the Lascaux cave with prehistoric paintings and lighting, and interactive tables and low-tech manipulatives.


Event – “150th Anniversary of the Hôtel de Paris Cellars”

This year, the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer celebrates the 150th anniversary of the famous Cellars of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo! Opened in 1874, they are a monument to the long and illustrious history of the company, which has often played a significant role. These hidden gems beneath the very foundations of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo epitomize refinement and exclusivity. To commemorate the occasion, the world’s largest hotel cellars will open their doors to the public for the very first time. The celebration will include an exhibition that takes visitors on a journey through 150 years of history, with a display of prestigious bottles and encounters with the cellar masters who will share their love for wine and culinary artistry.

The Cabinet of Wonders – ‘The Early Years of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974’ – An exhibition that explores the first 20 years of Monaco’s TV channel, launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time, to the early days of colour television. Organized by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the exhibition presents objects entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for preservation, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly lent by private individuals.

Exhibition – “The Prince and the Mediterranean”

From December 6, 2023, Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Prince Rainier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents the new permanent exhibition titled The Prince and the Mediterranean. Through this exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute pays tribute to the unbreakable bond that united Prince Rainier III to the ocean, and in particular, to the Mediterranean. Visitors are invited to board his boat, Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, they will explore four intimate spaces, each revealing different facets of this Prince, passionate about the Mare Nostrum.
