All Roads Lead to Jazz!
The Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival celebrates its 18th edition this year, establishing itself as one of the most important international jazz festivals. These two weeks of live music, set in the stunning Opéra Garnier in Monte Carlo, have been meticulously crafted to offer you an unforgettable musical experience.

The 2024 edition takes you on a journey through the most inspiring paths of jazz, from its classical roots to contemporary influences, showcasing the energetic riffs of big bands and the vibrant scat of powerful voices. With an eye on the future, the festival kicks off with young talents from the Académie Rainier III, a tribute to the next generation of musicians.

The following day, a legendary evening awaits with the Count Basie Orchestra, a pioneer of Kansas City jazz, and the Dal Sasso Big Band, paying tribute to Chick Corea. The program continues with world-renowned artists like the iconic Dee Dee Bridgewater and saxophonist Stefano Di Battista, who will perform together on the same night.

Exploring the origins of jazz, enriched by global influences, the festival brings AYỌ and Cape Verdean singer Mayra Andrade for a sensual musical journey filled with moments of deep emotion. The diversity of these musical landscapes is further enhanced by the pop-funk of the British band Level 42 and the fresh sounds of the trio Emile Londonien, inspired by London jazz.

The celebration reaches its climax with the electrifying Cuban rhythms of Cimafunk and the Afrobeat beats of Seun Kuti, in a world music night. The festival’s emotional peak comes with the instrumental collaboration of -M- and Thibault Cauvin, joined by the harpist and singer Sophye Soliveau.

Also not to be missed are two charismatic voices: the rising star Stella Cole, discovered through TikTok, and the renowned crooner Mario Biondi. The live concerts will take place in the stunning Salle Garnier, with pre and post-show entertainment in the Monte Carlo Casino Rotunda, specially transformed for the occasion. Additionally, two cinematic highlights will complement the festival: the screening of the film Ascenseur pour l’échafaud, in collaboration with the Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco, and the Whiplash cine-concert.
