On the occasion of World Environment Day, next June 5, the Principality of Monaco is organizing a series of initiatives to raise public awareness about the preservation of the marine and terrestrial environment.
Celebrated annually on June 5, this day is a United Nations initiative aimed at encouraging awareness and action for the protection of our environment.
Thus, the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA), the Environmental Directorate, the Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) Association of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (FPA2), the Monégasque Association for Nature Protection (AMPN), and the Pelagos and Ramoge Secretariats are pleased to offer you the program below and share this day with you on the Larvotto Esplanade!
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Waste Collection
The day will kick off at 9:00 AM with a waste collection operation. Two teams will work in parallel: one at sea and the other on land.
10:45 AM – 11:30 AM: Waste Characterization
After the collection, a waste characterization session will take place at 10:45 AM. This analysis, scheduled for about 45 minutes, will allow a better understanding of the nature of the collected waste.
Starting at 2:00 PM, various activities and workshops will be offered on the Larvotto Esplanade, such as: booths from different partners, an Escape Game workshop, a Waste Mural workshop, a goose game workshop for children…
The workshops will end at 5:00 PM.
The Pelagos and Ramoge Secretariats will take this opportunity to organize the signing of the RAMOGE Commitment Charter for Posidonia Alliance, an initiative that allows any marine actor to commit to the preservation of Posidonia.
Join us on June 5 for a day full of activities in favor of our environment.
