In Nice, art doesn’t stay behind museum walls — it lives and breathes on the streets. The city has embraced a bold vision: to make art accessible to all by transforming public spaces into a canvas for creativity.

Thanks to the work of talented street artists such as Artmor, Jen Miller, Brian Caddy, Otom, Faben, César Malfi, and Eric Garence, once-grey walls are now vibrant with color, offering a fresh visual identity to many corners of the city. From west to east, from Place Masséna to Malausséna, through Jean Médecin and down to the flea markets of the Port, street art has become an integral part of the urban landscape.

The Creative Hub: “Le 109”

At the heart of this movement is “Le 109,” headquarters of the Whole Street association and a creative hub for contemporary urban art. It hosts exhibitions, residencies, and collaborative projects — including works by the Parisian artist Speedy Graphito, created during his 2022 residency. Le 109 is where artists, residents, and visitors converge to experience a living, evolving art scene.

Walls That Speak: Citywide Projects

Across Nice, dedicated walls have become the site of evolving artistic expression, such as:

  • A mural on Boulevard Verany by the Whole Street collective;

  • A second one on Avenue du XVème Corps, created by 11 artists;

  • A collaborative piece in the Las Planas neighborhood, painted on the Animanice basketball court with the help of local youth.

Photography has also made its way into the city’s street art scene. In Avenue Désambrois, a wall is now dedicated to large-format photo installations, recently featuring powerful ocean-themed images by photographers Greg Lecoeur and Jean-François Maccario.

A Living Art Map

To showcase and promote this creative landscape, the city has launched a dedicated section on its official website. Here, visitors can explore current works, meet featured artists, and stay up to date with upcoming projects. The platform also offers a submission form for new proposals and a contact email to foster dialogue with art enthusiasts.

Social Street Art

Street art in Nice is also active on social media, with official pages on Facebook and Instagram sharing visuals, event info, and behind-the-scenes glimpses — bringing this ever-evolving form of art closer to the public.
