The 2026 edition of La Vuelta will kick off from the Principality of Monaco, with the first stage taking place entirely within the city-state. The second stage will also start from Monaco. The organizers of the Spanish stage race made the announcement, noting that La Vuelta first started abroad in 1997 in Lisbon, which is also the location for the first stage of this year’s edition, starting on August 17.
On Thursday, May 16, an agreement was signed at the Monaco Yacht Club to host the entire inaugural stage and the start of the second stage in the Principality.
The evening continued at the Monte Carlo Circuit during the Flaujac Foundation event.
