On December 11, 2024, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Director of the Asset Management Service for Seized or Confiscated Assets of Monaco, Mr. Richard DUBANT, and the Director of Public Safety, Mr. Eric ARELLA.
This partnership is part of the implementation of the Principality’s international commitments and domestic legal provisions related to the Fight Against Money Laundering (LCB), the Financing of Terrorism (FT), and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The agreement aims to define the collaboration procedures between these two services in managing seized or confiscated assets both in Monaco and abroad, particularly regarding the preparation of decisions to seize criminal assets, the execution of judicial seizure or confiscation decisions, and the organization of informational or training actions aimed at promoting best practices useful for carrying out criminal seizures and confiscations.
On an operational level, this cooperation framework also seeks to enable the identification of assets that could be seized from the start of criminal investigations and to consider the methods for their preservation.
