Monaco limits on-street parking for aesthetic reasons: only 1,000 spaces are available, free for electric cars and on Sundays (street parking only). The standard rate is €2.40 per hour, payable via parking meters or apps like PayByPhone and Monapass, with a maximum parking time of 2 hours in most areas. For this reason, paid parking lots are the most convenient and secure choice.
The Principality has about 40 public parking lots with nearly 20,000 total spaces, strategically distributed. An interactive map helps tourists and visitors find the nearest free parking spots in real time to choose the best option. For example, to visit the Prince’s Palace or the Oceanographic Museum, the most convenient parking is Parking des Pêcheurs.
Note: From July 21 to October 6, 2025, Parking Louis II will be closed for maintenance. Subscribers will be temporarily redirected to Grimaldi Forum and Portier parking lots, while other users can use the Viaduc parking.
How much do parking lots cost?

3 hours: €11.60
4 hours: €14.50
Night parking (7:00 PM–8:00 AM): €0.70 per 15 minutes
24-hour parking: €24
Free parking is not possible on Saturdays and Sundays; prices remain unchanged.
Lost ticket = daily fee of €25.
Monthly subscriptions
Priority is given to residents without private parking and workers employed in the Principality.
Residents: €117 per month
Workers: “jour-travail” subscription for 300 hours of parking at €103 per month (2025 rate).
Some categories (professionals, athletes, public officials) have specific benefits.
Park-and-ride: the most economical solution
The goal is to park at the city entrance to reduce internal traffic. The only nearby park-and-ride is Zac Saint-Antoine in Cap d’Ail. Users can then reach Monaco by free buses or on foot through the Salines tunnel.
Advantages:
Park-and-ride subscribers pay around €51 per month with reimbursements and discounts.
Without subscription, cost is €4 for 2 hours, less than half of internal parking fees.
The new Parking des Salines
Opened in April 2024, Parking des Salines is the largest and most modern in the Principality:
1,790 parking spaces
100 electric vehicle charging stations
Facilities for people with reduced mobility, motorcycles, bicycles, and trucks
Free shuttles every 10 minutes to the city center
Rates: €7.50 for half a day, €11 for a full day
Monthly subscription for 300 hours costs €51, including CAM transport card and 10 free bus tickets
Motorcycle and scooter parking
There is a dedicated subscription for motorcyclists at €33 per month. Those who already have a car subscription can add motorcycle parking at the same facility for an additional €10 per month.
