On Saturday, June 29, the Tour de France started from Florence. For the first time in its history, the race will not conclude in the Paris region, but in Nice on July 21, after an individual time trial that will see the riders leave Monaco to arrive in Place Massena in Nice.

This highly anticipated event promises a great spectacle. Additionally, in the two preceding days, the group will travel the roads of the Nice hinterland, facing two mountain stages.

For the occasion, many cultural and sporting events have been organized in Nice:

  • Cinematheque:
    • Wednesday, July 10 at 9:30 PM, outdoor screening of La Bande des quatre by Peter Yates at Quai de la Douane, Nice port.
  • Opera Music:
    • Sunday, July 14 at 8:30 PM, “Tour d’orchestre(s) à bicyclette” by conductor (and cyclist) Dylan Corlay, who departed from Alsace on April 11 and is expected in Nice on July 14 for a concert with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra at Théâtre de Verdure.
  • Archives/Heritage:
    • All summer, bicycle itineraries at the Centre du Patrimoine – Le Sénat de la Ville de Nice.
    • Until August 2, 2024, exhibition “Nice, carnavals sportifs” at the Archives of Nice Côte d’Azur.
    • On July 19, 20, and 21, 2024, exhibition “Histoire du vélo à Nice” at the Tour de France Fan Park in Jardin Albert 1er.
  • Libraries:
    • Wednesday, July 10 at 2:00 PM, readings “à bicyclette!” at the Caucade library for children aged 5 and up.
    • All libraries will have documents on the Tour de France and cycling (books, magazines, DVDs, etc.) available for loan.
  • Street Art Bike Tour:
    • On the weekend of July 13/14, bicycle tour with Andy Dewet in the eastern districts of Nice, showcasing some of the city’s best street art.
  • La Grande boucle Nice Facile:
    • Until July 21, urban rally for families called “La Grande Boucle Nice Facile,” consisting of 8 different stages with the goal of discovering or rediscovering emblematic places in the city of Nice, following the riders’ route during the stage that arrives in the city.
  • Children – Recreational Centers:
    • Broadcast of a Tour de France clip made and filmed by the children of the recreational centers, shown within the Tour village.
    • Saturday, July 20, grand crossing of the finish line (from the youngest to the oldest).
  • Festival Tous en Selle – Documentary Film Screenings:
    • Friday, July 19 in the evening, “Tous en Selle” Festival at the Tour de France Fan Park.
