An international jury composed of prominent figures from cinema, television, and fashion will preside over the 21st edition of the Montecarlo Film Festival de la Comédie, the prestigious event conceived and directed by Ezio Greggio. The festival will take place from November 27 to 30 at the Grimaldi Forum in the Principality of Monaco.
The personalities selected for the jury of this 21st edition, one of the most important festivals exclusively dedicated to comedy, include: jury president Anne Brochet, renowned for her performances in Cyrano de Bergerac, The Hedgehog, and If You Don’t, I Will, who received the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for All the Mornings of the World; Federica Sabatini, a breakout star of the TV series Suburra: The Series, Suburræterna, Red Mirror, and the anticipated Prophecy; Ricky Memphis, an actor famous for comedic films like Immaturi, Vacanze di Natale a Cortina, and La mossa del pinguino, as well as more dramatic works such as the series Everything Calls for Salvation and the film Ultrà; and finally, Alain-Fabien Delon, French actor, model, and writer known for works such as Savage Days, Fabio Montale, and You and the Night.
Conceived and directed by Ezio Greggio, the Monte-Carlo Film Festival, now in its 21st edition, is one of the world’s most prestigious festivals dedicated to comedy. Once again, it will be held at the renowned Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, featuring screenings and masterclasses with some of the most beloved stars of international, Italian, and French cinema. The event will culminate with the traditional Gala Night and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 30.
The primary goal of the Montecarlo Film Festival is to promote and spread the various genres of comedy through film premieres, both in competition and out of competition. This event represents an important international showcase for a genre highly appreciated by audiences but often undervalued by critics. Thanks to the efforts of Ezio Greggio and the late Mario Monicelli, co-founder of the festival, comedy has gained recognition at other prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Rome, Turin, and Venice.
Following the excellent response from the previous edition, this year will see the introduction of a new section dedicated to short films, the Short Comedy Award, aimed at directors, actors, and producers of brief comedies.
Registrations and additional information are available on FilmFreeway, one of the leading platforms for international festivals.
The event is held in collaboration with EFG Bank (Monaco) under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Embassy of Italy. Once again, Radio Monte Carlo will serve as the festival’s official radio station.
