The 2024-2025 season of the Dante Alighieri Association, Monaco Committee, begins with the presentation of the poetry collection “Raconte-moi mes rêves” / “Raccontami i miei sogni” (Egnatia 2024) by Angela Valenti Durazzo, illustrated by Monegasque painter Claude Gauthier, with introductions by Maria Betti and Paolo Sabbatini.
The event, under the High Patronage of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover and with the Patronage of the Italian Embassy, will take place at the Auditorium of the AGORA Maison Diocésaine (18, rue Bellevue Monaco) on Wednesday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m. (free entry).
The meeting, during which the author will be interviewed by journalist Cinzia Colman, will feature the reading of several poems accompanied by musical interludes by Altin Tafilaj.
Tafilaj, former solo viola of the National Orchestra of Cannes (with which, as a soloist, he performed Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with violinist Tedi Papavrami), has collaborated as solo viola with numerous orchestras such as the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestre d’Auvergne. He is currently pursuing a career as a solo violist.
Angela Valenti Durazzo is a journalist and writer. Selected among the authors of the anthological volume Encyclopedia of Contemporary Poetry (Fondazione Mario Luzi, Vol.4-2013), she is also the author of the poetry collection “Qui dove il nulla mi appartiene” (Egnatia, 2017), with which she participated in the 9th and 10th International Book Fair of the Principality of Monaco. In 2018, she was named “Ambassador of Genoa in the World” and is engaged in solidarity and cultural dissemination efforts in support of Albania through the ASA/L’Autre rivage de l’Adriatique group. She lives in the Principality with her family.
The program of the Dante Alighieri Association Monaco will continue on October 11 with a topical theme discussed by an internationally renowned expert. Father Paolo Benanti, advisor to Pope Francis on matters related to artificial intelligence, ethics, and technology, professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University and the University of Seattle, and the only Italian member, since October 2023, of the advisory group on artificial intelligence of the U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, will speak to us about “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence.” The press release and event poster will follow in the coming days.
