This year, the MAR “Girolamo Rossi” Civic Archaeological Museum of Ventimiglia once again participates in the European Heritage Days (Giornate Europee del Patrimonio).
The theme of this edition, “Heritage on the Move,” follows the European slogan “Routes, Networks and Connections,” chosen by the Council of Europe and shared by the participating countries. It invites reflection on the value of cultural heritage in relation to paths, communication routes, connections, and networks that, both today and in the past, have enabled relationships and exchanges between peoples and cultures, contributing to the formation of our identity.
On Saturday, September 28, at 3:00 p.m., the Museum organizes a walk with a guided tour along the Via Iulia Augusta, exploring history, landscape, and archaeology. After a historical-archaeological introduction at the MAR, visitors will be accompanied on a short walk between the Church of San Michele, which preserves important Roman milestones, and Porta Canarda, a crossing point of the ancient road.
Meeting at 2:50 p.m. at the Museum. Cost of the visit: €4.50/person (special reduced ticket for all participants).
The event is organized in collaboration with the Intemelia Section of the International Institute of Ligurian Studies and the Liguria Museums Directorate.
