Fire is the result of a chemical reaction, but it has always fascinated man. The first real traces of hearths date back 400,000 years and testify to the domestic use of fire by man. Today, this vital element is taken for granted. However, it marks a turning point in human evolution.

EXHIBITION – A MASTERPIECE OF ITS OWN: MONET AT THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS”

In 2024, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, the exhibition “Paris 1874. Inventing Impressionism” will be held in Paris and in over 30 French museums. The Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret will present a masterpiece by Claude Monet.
EXHIBITION – MARTINE DOYTIER, A RETROSPECTIVE
From 02/03 to 07/31/2024. Closed on Mondays and Sundays.
This exhibition is the first retrospective dedicated to Martine Doytier. It brings together all her known works up to now.
Martine Doytier was an artist in Nice from 1971 to 1984. Over thirteen years, she developed a captivating body of work.
Her keen eye and ability to sketch characters and tell their stories have produced a corpus of works in continuous evolution and have led her to undertake what would be her last unfinished work: “Self-portrait,” a painting she worked on for five years passionately depicting her daily world.

EXHIBITION: TINTIN AND TCHANG

The Hergé Museum in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) joins the Alpes-Maritimes Department to present a double exhibition entitled Tintin, Hergé, and Chang.
The exhibition reveals the many facets of the father of Tintin through a superb selection of precious documents, original drawings, and objects, presented for the first time on the French Riviera.

The National Sports Museum presents Les Elles des Jeux, which shows the spectacular progress made over
the last 130 years, from the near exclusion of women to the fight for equality.
EXHIBITION ROUTE
In an immersive and interactive setting, the Les Elles des Jeux exhibition retraces over 130 years of our contemporary society through the stories of emblematic women with exemplary destinies. The exhibition is divided into 6 sections, both chronological and thematic. With “Elles ne sont pas les bienvenues” (They are not welcome), the exhibition begins its journey through time with the first Olympic Games of the modern era.
