The Dante Alighieri Committee of Monaco celebrates the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death with an unmissable event. On Thursday, November 14 at 6:30 PM, the musical conference “Visse d’Arte: Puccinian Dialogues” will take place at the Théâtre des Variétés in Monaco (Bld Albert I), under the High Patronage of H.R.H. Princess of Hanover, and sponsored by the Embassy of Italy in Monaco and the National Committee for the Puccini Celebrations.
Renowned tenor Fabio Armiliato, soprano Amarilli Nizza, and pianist Roberto Prosseda will bring to life Puccini’s operas with music and words, honoring one of Italy’s greatest composers, whose works continue to be performed worldwide. This musical conference will be accompanied by an exhibition of works by artist Corrado Veneziano, from his collection “Visse d’Arte,” which offers a visual reinterpretation of Puccini’s universe, conveying “a powerful figurative tension that dialogues with the refinement of musical notes.” As the artist himself explains, “If the tradition of Belcanto continues to express its solid and driving (unequaled) power, and if the Italian language remains among the most studied in the world, tied to art and culture, one of its greatest creators is undoubtedly Giacomo Puccini.”
The event will feature Puccini’s masterpieces, including excerpts from Manon Lescaut, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, and other works. The biographies of the artists, brought together by this event organized by the association led by Maria Betti, speak for themselves.
