On the occasion of its 7th plenary meeting, the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights presented its seventh annual activity report, bringing together representatives of Monegasque institutions, the Judicial Services Department, State services, and associations committed to the defence of women’s rights.

The meeting, chaired by Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, Counsellor of Government – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, highlighted the actions carried out throughout the year by the Committee and its members. Exchanges with prominent figures such as Djaïli Amadou Amal and Isabelle Rome in 2025 made it possible to address new challenges, while strengthening the visibility and impact of the Committee’s initiatives.

During the plenary session, the Interministerial Delegate for Women’s Rights, Céline COTTALORDA, presented an overview of the key achievements of 2025, a year marked by increased mobilisation around strong strategic priorities:

  • Two major statistical studies focusing on violence against women and gender pay gaps;

  • Two major awareness-raising campaigns: the 8 March campaign, “POWHER”, which brought together numerous stakeholders committed to equality, and the 25 November campaign, addressing the concept of coercive control through the video “Black Box”, viewed over 800,000 times on social media;

  • A continued strengthening of professional training, with 115 professionals trained in the reception and support of victims of domestic violence, and 119 civil servants and State employees sensitised to sexism in the workplace.

On this occasion, Céline COTTALORDA recalled that “knowledge, prevention and training are essential levers for achieving lasting change in practices and mindsets, and for ensuring effective protection of women’s rights.”

Building on this work, the Committee defined the main areas of focus for 2026, centred on clear priorities:

  • Implementing targeted measures to combat economic violence;

  • Continuing and strengthening joint actions, by promoting synergies between institutions, State services and civil society organisations.

The year 2026 will also provide an opportunity to promote national actions in favour of women’s rights before the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, within the framework of the Monegasque Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

In conclusion, Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ emphasised that, while real progress has been made internationally, it remains uneven and fragile. Despite numerous reforms and improvements achieved over the past thirty years, women still do not fully enjoy the same rights as men. She warmly thanked all members and partners of the Committee for their continued mobilisation, the quality of their actions, and their commitment to gender equality.
