February 2025 promises to be a month filled with unmissable events on the stunning French Riviera, a region renowned for its beauty, cultural allure, and numerous artistic offerings. From theater to contemporary art, exhibitions to music festivals, February is the perfect time to discover one of France’s most captivating regions. Here is a selection of the main events that will mark this period.

The Carnival

The Nice Carnival, one of the world’s most famous and colorful, needs no introduction. Every year, the city transforms into a living stage, with spectacular parades, decorated floats, artistic performances, and live shows that celebrate the carnival theme. The heart of the celebration is the “Bataille de Fleurs” (Battle of Flowers), an event that mixes parades of fresh flowers, dancing, and music. The city of Nice comes alive with vibrant colors, allegory, and tradition, making this festival a truly unique experience.

The 91st edition of the Menton Lemon Festival. Every year, the town of Menton, located on the beautiful French Riviera, welcomes thousands of visitors to celebrate one of the most fascinating and colorful events in Europe: the Fête du Citron.

The Flower Battle of Villefranche-sur-Mer. On February 17, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., a carnival parade will pass along the docks before the “pointus” (flower-adorned boats) kick off this grand flower battle at 2:00 p.m.

Sports

The weekend of February 8-9, 2025, marks the return of the Monaco Run, an event open to all. The event includes various races, including 5 km, 10 km, and 12 km courses, but the big novelty of this edition is the first edition of the Trail du Mont Agel. This fascinating 30-kilometer route offers a unique opportunity to explore the rugged landscapes surrounding the Principality. Registrations are still open for all competitions, including those with the “Dossards Solidaires” (Solidarity Bibs), which support a charitable cause.

Another unmissable event is the return of the Pink Ribbon Walk, a walk dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis. A chance to join a meaningful cause and contribute to spreading a prevention message.

Culture

In February, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra will hold three concerts at the Rainier III Auditorium. On February 9, 2025, the concert “Homage to Ravel,” “Chamber Music” on Tuesday 18, and the “Recital Christian Zacharias” on Friday 28.

February also offers the opportunity to discover the magnificence of the Opéra Garnier in Monte-Carlo with five unmissable performances. Among the highlights, French-Swiss tenor Benjamin Bernheim will perform on Sunday, February 9, followed by four performances of “The Rhinegold” throughout the month.

At the Grimaldi Forum, on Thursday, February 20, the Franco-English band Dead Chic will perform in a “Thursday Live Session.”

On the exhibition front, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco presents two exhibitions: “Francisco Tropa – Paesine” at Villa Paloma and the new “Agora, la place du musée” at Villa Sauber. Additionally, “Art Xploration,” a major exhibition celebrating art in all its forms, will be held from February 6 to March 4, 2025, at Espace 22.

For families, the Théâtre des Muses offers performances for both adults and children, while the Théâtre Princesse Grâce will host two notable events: “Ma version de l’histoire” on February 20 and “Pauvre Bitos! Ou le dîner de têtes” on February 25.
