Residents of the Principality of Monaco are currently receiving malicious phone calls, made from foreign operator numbers, often appearing as “masked”, making any traceability attempts difficult. The scammers mainly call elderly people, presenting themselves as police officers or lawyers and make them believe that a family member has been involved in a serious traffic accident. They ask to gather a significant amount of money (cash, jewelry, etc.) to help them.
