The Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), in partnership with the Tourism and Conventions Department, is launching a survey on the consumption habits of tourists visiting the Principality of Monaco, which will take place throughout 2025.

Objectives of the Survey
The survey aims to collect essential information on the reasons for visiting Monaco, tourists’ preferences for accommodation, dining, and leisure activities, as well as the duration of their stay. The goal is to better understand their behavior in order to optimize their experience in the Principality and improve Monaco’s tourism offering.

Methodology and Participation
The survey will be conducted in two ways:

  1. Hostesses and surveyors will visit key areas of the Principality to meet with visitors for a quick and discreet interview lasting no more than five minutes. Participation is entirely voluntary, and responses will remain anonymous and confidential.
  2. For those who prefer to respond online, a QR code will also be made available at destination partners (hotels, restaurants, stores), thanks to the collaboration of the Monaco Hotel Industry Association and the Union of Monaco Merchants and Artisans.

“I am pleased with the positive response from our partners. The placement of signs featuring a QR code linking directly to the questionnaire in their establishments, accompanied by an incentive to participate in the survey, will be one of the key factors in the success of this study,” said Alexandre Bubbio, Director of IMSEE.

“This survey will provide us with the essential keys to understanding travelers’ consumption habits, enabling us to better guide our marketing strategies and optimize our offerings to maximize the attractiveness of the Monaco destination,” said Guy Antognelli, Director of Tourism and Conventions.
